Chip Shortage Severely Restricts Global Car Production And Sales

Since the end of 2020, affected by the shortage of chips, the global automotive supply chain has encountered difficulties that have not been encountered in many years, and some automotive companies have to reduce or suspend production. This "core shortage" crisis has a huge impact on global automobile production and sales, and even some analysts believe that it will affect 20% of global automobile production this year.

The latest statistics from AutoForecast Solutions, a global automotive consulting organization, show that as of October 10, due to chip shortages, global automotive production has been reduced by 9.345 million units. Among them, China's auto production reduced by 1.827 million units, accounting for 19.6% of the global auto production reduction.

The industry generally believes that the chip shortage will be completely alleviated by mid-2022.
